Billboard: Justin Timberlake Gets in the Studio With His ‘Brothers’ *NSYNC for ‘Paradise’ Recording

Justin Timberlake is feeling nostalgic with *NSYNC.

Following the release of his sixth studio album, Everything I Thought It Was, on Friday (March 15), the star took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes clip of the making of “Paradise,” his collaboration with former boy band *NSYNC. In the video, the five-piece group are seen recording vocals on the unifying track, where the band comes together on the chorus to sing, “Everything is happening/ And it’s just what I imagined/ I imagine it would feel like paradise.”

“In the studio with my brothers. Thank you all for the PARADISE love,” he captioned the post. Watch the clip here.

Forbes: Is NSYNC Headed For Another Hit On The Billboard Charts?

On Friday (March 15), Justin Timberlake finally released his long-awaited new album Everything I Thought It Was. The pop set features a number of collaborations, and one was immediately singled out as the biggest of the bunch–and a likely next hit for the singer and the band that made him a star.

Everything I Thought It Was includes a duet with NSYNC, the boy band that helped propel Timberlake to household name status. The singer and his groupmates–who are credited as featured artists on the tune, even though Timberlake is still technically a member–teamed up for the tune “Paradise,” which appears later on the full-length.

Just hours after Timberlake’s new album arrived, “Paradise” has become a sales hit, on iTunes, at least. The song is up to No. 4 on the platform’s ranking of the bestselling tracks in the U.S. (as of publishing). The tune is on the rise, as just a few hours before, it sat just outside the top 10 on the tally.

“Paradise” is far and away the most successful song from Everything I Thought It Was on iTunes in the hours following the album’s release. At the time of writing, the lead single from the full-length, “Selfish,” is the only other top 40-seller on the platform from Timberlake. That track sits at No. 25.

Just one other cut from Everything I Thought It Was, “Drown,” is present inside the top 100 on iTunes. That tune was dropped before the album appeared in full as a promotional single. It became a middling sales hit, peaking at No. 11 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart last week. This frame, it’s disappeared from that tally.

If “Paradise” can continue to sell well throughout the coming week, and rack up a healthy streaming sum as well, Timberlake and NSYNC may be headed for another hit on the Billboard charts. The singer reunited the boy band in 2023 for the single “Better Place” from the latest Trolls film, and it was a success for all involved. The track brought the group back to the Hot 100 for the first time in decades, and it rose as high as No. 25.
