Tiger Woods, Justin Timberlake set to open golf-infused New York City sports bar

The golf life of a New Yorker isn’t always glamorous.

Tee times are hard to come by and difficult to reach. Practice opportunities are few, and interest from your non-sicko friends is limited. The places that are worth the journey — schlepping your clubs out of your closet, down three flights of stairs and through crowded streets — are often only seen alone.

But the Big Apple golf scene is about to get a jolt, thanks in part to the most electric player the game has ever known — Tiger Woods — and the sport’s new celebrity patron saint, Justin Timberlake.

On Monday morning, Woods and Timberlake announced the creation of a sports bar and indoor golf experience in the heart of Manhattan, just a few wedge shots from Grand Central Station. It’s called T-Squared Social Club — a nod to Tiger’s first name, and Timberlake’s last — and it is unlike any other hangout in the city. (Click here for a full photo tour.)

It’s hard to know where to begin with T-Squared, but perhaps a good place to start is the floor. Shoebox-living New Yorkers will be awed by the bar’s cavernous, 22,000-square-foot footprint, which spans an entire city block between E. 42nd St. and 43rd St. (In a feat beyond the comprehension of most New York City eaters, the bar is large enough to have entrances on both streets.)

T-Squared, formerly an Emigrant Savings Bank branch, is prime Midtown, but a tourist trap it is not. The space is befitting both Woods and Timberlake’s investment in the sport, which has expanded tremendously in recent years. Timberlake, a golf nut, worked closely with his strategic partners at 8AM Golf (also the holding company behind GOLF.com) to conceptualize and execute the vision behind T-Squared. The new space joins 3’s Golf as one of JT’s recent investments into the exploding golf entertainment space. Woods, meanwhile, leaned on his partners with the hospitality management company the Nexus Club to help modernize the space, which features an open concept, 24-foot ceilings and four separate dining areas.

-Squared sports fans will be enticed by the space’s suite of gaming goodies, which include four multi-sport Full Swing golf simulators and state-of-the-art hitting bays, a duckpin bowling alley, and dart boards. T-Squared immediately becomes one of the city’s only indoor golf entertainment offerings, not to mention one of its glitziest. As Woods said in a release, “Justin and I thought it would be cool to create a place that combines our favorite things.”

Speaking of sports, it’d be a good idea to keep your fall weekend schedule clear. Commandeering the wall in T-Squared’s main dining room is New York City’s largest indoor television — a 200-inch behemoth that can be split into four separate telecasts or, in the case of a really big game, tweaked to beam in one movie theater-sized broadcast. It’s hard to have a bad view of the mega-screen from anywhere in the dining room — I tried — but T-Squared installed 35 other flatscreen TVs just in case of any issues.

Joey Fatone Calls *NSYNC’s VMAs Reunion ‘Surreal’ at 90s Con: ‘We Fell into Place’

*NSYNC‘s Joey Fatone reveals what it really felt like getting the band back together for the first time in over two decades.

“It was fun!” Fatone, 46, told the crowd at 90s Con Florida Sunday while speaking on a panel alongside Backstreet Boys Howie Dorough and AJ McLean and TLC’Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins. “MTV Awards was really cool. It was fun for me and the guys to get back together. It was surreal in the sense of we kind of just stepped back from each other. Literally, we fell into place.”

Last week, the boy band, consisting of Fatone, Justin TimberlakeJC Chasez, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick, announced that their first single in over 20 years titled “Better Place” would appear in the soundtrack for Universal’s Trolls Band Together.

We’re excited for *NSYNC to come out with a song, which is crazy to say after 25 years,” Fatone told panel moderator and PEOPLE Senior Editor Breanne L. Heldman at 90s Con in Tampa. “And no, I don’t know if there is a tour!”

Fatone offered his advice on how to make an *NSYNC tour happen. “If the fans want it that much yell at the companies, yell at Sony, yell at them,” he said.

When asked by Heldman whether *NSYNC and BSB had a boy band rivalry, Fatone and Dorough, 50, had different answers, with Fatone saying “no” and Dorough saying “yes.” McLean, 45, said “it was all healthy competition” and that “there was more internal competition” among the bandmates than external.

“Back in the day all the different magazines would pit us against each other even though Howie went to college with Chris, I’ve known Joey for years, I’ve known Lance for years,” McLean, continued.

The Backstreet Boys simply “wanted to make good music and just have fun and perform for you guys,” McLean explained. “That was it but the press was like, ‘*NSYNC or Backstreet Boys?'”

Now, McLean feels like the rivalry has softened. “There was a line drawn back then, but what I love today is the line has blurred because mostly both of our fans, all of our fans, are fans of music,” he said. “So, if you like the song, you like the song, it doesn’t matter who sings it.”

After decades of fans hoping for an *NSYNC musical reunion, the day has finally come: The five-member boy band’s Trolls Band Together soundtrack contribution “Better Place” was announced first thing Thursday (Sept. 14) along with a new trailer for the animated threequel.

The song marks *NSYNC’s first musical release since 2002 (when the Neptunes remix of “Girlfriend,” featuring Nelly, arrived) and it comes just days after the group — Justin TimberlakeJC ChasezChris KirkpatrickJoey Fatone and Lance Bass — stepped onstage together at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards to present the award for best pop to Taylor Swift for “Anti-Hero.” The group last took the VMAs stage in 2013, for Timberlake’s Video Vanguard Award medley performance.

Rumors of *NSYNC’s reunion began swirling after a number of Trolls Band Together posters popped up in New York, featuring the first letter of the *NSYNC logo and a QR code. The code takes you to this site — TakeYouToABetterPlace.com — which teases the whistling pop tune. Timberlake stars in the upcoming film, returning as the troll Branch alongside Anna Kendrick’s Poppy, but the new movie’s plot follows as Branch reunites with his brothers to get their childhood boy band, BroZone, back together. ET: See NSYNC Reunite in the Recording Studio for New Song ‘Better Place’: ‘It’s a Love Letter to Our Fans’

The new video comes after all five men reunited onstage at the 2023 MTV VMAs.

Justin Timberlake shared a new video of him casually hanging with the fellas of NSYNC and working on their first new single in decades

In a new video shared on Instagram, Timberlake gives his followers a behind-the-scenes look at his, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick’s studio session working on “Better Place,” from the upcoming Trolls: Band Together soundtrack.

“When the stars align… got my brothers back together in the studio to work on something fun and the energy was special. Better Place is coming 9/29 🙏🏻 LOVE Y’ALL,” Timberlake wrote.

The video starts with a sentimental moment, led by the “Sexyback” singer as he tells his former bandmates how important the moment is.

“So many stars aligned, that’s why I hit y’all. I was like, ‘Hey, something came up.'” he says. “If we do this song, it’s a love letter to our fans. I would be honored to have the group on this song.”

“Who’s ready for a reunion?” someone asks.

The video continues with Timberlake sitting behind the sound board and reacting as each member lays down his vocals for the track. Giving the fans a taste of what’s to come, the song plays in the background.

“Sounds good, sounds like it’s finished,” Kirkpatrick says, giving the song his seal of approval.

Bass then reminds the room how long it’s been since they made music.

“That’s the first NSYNC song finished in 23 years,” he says.

Ending the video on a sweet note, Timberlake and Fatone embrace, as Fatone uses the moment to make a joke.

Bringing the emotions back, Timberlake tells his friends, “Listen, man, I love you guys That sh*t is epic.”

NSYNC has been tearin’ up their fans hearts all week with their reunion. On Wednesday, it was announced that “Better Place” will be in support of the upcoming film, Trolls: Band Together. The popular animated franchise features Timberlake as the voice of Branch.

The song is a particularly appropriate choice for the upcoming film, which revolves around the reuniting of a Troll boyband, BroZone, who come back together after years of estrangement.

Fans learned about the new song one day after Timberlake reunited with Chasez, Bass, Fatone and Kirkpatrick onstage at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday. The brief (yet iconic) moment was the first time the group hit the stage together since 2013, when they performed during Timberlake’s Video Vanguard performance.

“Better Place” drops Sept. 29. Trolls: Band Together hits theaters Nov. 17.
